About the Authors
The Mother in this dyad, a psychologist and writer, Martha has retired from being a mental health provider, but has not surrendered her role as Mother, nor her profession as a Writer. Her publications go back more than thirty years and range from peer-reviewed academic papers and conference presentations to essays, poetry, and a photo text exhibit. She has poetry on the web in Shampoo , Miller's Pond Online , Stirring, Milk Magazine, landofbrokenpromises.co.uk (UK), and an essay on www.somedancersandmusicians.com (UK). In hypermedia, she has an electronic poem in The Museum of the Essential and Beyond That (Brazil)and collaborations with the Daughter on www.erasures.net and the daughter's site, www.sporkworld.org. Visit her web site.
The Daughter, Millie, forms the second part of our duo. She provided much of the technical know-how, gleaned from her own experience as a web artist, having numerous web publications for poetry and new media art in places such as trAce, Beehive, Wordcircuits, bannerart.org, Rhizomes/hyperrhiz, Sidereality, The Museum of the Essential and Beyond That (Brazil), Furthertxt.org (UK), etc. She has learned to be obscene from her mother, who may have inherited it from her grandmother (see introcutory notes about the Monk), although it skipped Millie's grandmother's generation. She is happy that she can show her mother all her work, unlike her mother who must brag without any evidence for fear of shocking.
